Have
you ever wanted to ask the authors of a software program a question,
report a bug, or suggest a new feature or a better way to do
something? Good luck! If you do happen to reach
someone,
you have the challenge of overcoming language barriers or they
don’t
have a script for the question you are asking or you have to pay a fee
just to talk with them.
This
is not the case with
CornerStone Applications. Customer service is one of our
highest
priorities. If you call or email us, you will be
communicating
with an American who is directly involved in the design and development
of RangeMaster Pro. We provide this level of free support
because
we have found that the closer we are to our customers the more we
understand their needs, and the more we understand their needs, the
better the product we can provide. The added benefit is that
there is no better form of advertisement than happy customers sharing
their experience with their peers.

Here are three new features
that might make you want to upgrade to RangeMaster Pro II.
- Automatic
expiration notification for firearm maintenance, qualification courses,
training courses and license to carry permits that have expired or are
about to expire.
- A Custody Log
tab that automatically builds a history for each firearm. It
creates a new log record when a firearm is added into the system,
transferred, and when it’s status changes.
- The ability
to define a Location where firearms or equipment can be
assigned. This is similar to the officer tab but a Location
record defines a place not a person.

Using
pre-defined lists for fields with dropdowns is great for data
consistency. Managing some of these multi-column lists can be
a
little cumbersome if they’re not sorted in a meaningful
way.
Here’s how to sort them:
Version
I users:
Within Table Maintenance, open the Firearm Mfg/Model,
Equipment/Holster or Instructor/Armorer list. Click on the
column
header that you want to sort by. Click the Sort button on the
RangeMaster Pro toolbar. You can select multiple columns by
clicking and dragging the mouse button over multiple headers.
You
can also move columns by clicking a header to select it, then clicking
it again and dragging it to a new location.
Version I
users cannot change the sort order of dropdown fields.
Version
II users: From the Lists menu, open the Firearm
or Equipment
Manufacturer/Model list. Click on a column header and drag it
to
the sort area to sort by that column. You can drag additional
columns to the sort area to further define the sort order.
You
can move a column by clicking on its header and dragging it to the
desired location.
To change the
sort order of a multi-column dropdown field on
one of the data entry tabs such as the Mfg/Model field on the Firearm
tab, click the field’s dropdown arrow to display
the list, then click the header of the column you want to sort by.
For all
users, the sort order of a list will be re-set when you close
the list window.
